Yeppers.
I am just getting over the muscle soreness after a seizure the other day. Your OTC painkiller of choice can help.

Hi amy I am currently dealing with my daughter having what I think are abscence seizures. The other day she told me she felt really fant at school and had to sit dwn as her legs went like jelly. The she said her body from head to toe were really aching and she had a headache. After reading your thread and seeing that you ached after your seizures I am wondering if that is what is happening to her. I am waiting for her to see the neurologist for the 2nd time as the `1st time they ruled out epilepsy and said it was just daydreaming. Now she isin her teens and I think its happening more. Mind you I have never witnessed her doing this but her teachers have. She just goes into like a stare and then just snaps out of it. I found out something I never new by reading the threads. Thanks.

hi there, my name is melinda, my son, who is now 7 year old, has had epileptic seizures since he was 8 months old, he has had both petit mal and grand mal episodes and his Dr. told me that i could tell the difference between a staring episode and daydreaming by trying to get his attention by calling his name, tapping his shoulder ormoving my hands in front of him and if he doesnt come out of it then it is a siezure but if he does come out ofit then he is just daydreaming. This might work for your daughter.he has been on tegretol and now on depakote

Oh I do.
Mine is typically in the arms and legs and they hurt so bad for sometimes hours afterward. It's like I've instantly yanked at the same time with great effort all the muscles in both arms and legs and they hurt and ache.
recently though, with the last seizure earlier this month, not only was it my arms and legs but also my upper back, neck, and back of head as well so... yup - me too.

I also feel as if I have been hit by a bus the next day. Muscles in the legs, neck and back feel as though I have done strenuous exercises, and if I bite my mouth, that is excruciating for a while. I find a herbal remedy helps for the bruising - it is called Arnica here in South Africa. One justs dissolves a few little pills under the tongue. You are not alone!

I just had a seizure last night and everything still hurts. I couldn't eat my sandwich at lunch because I can't seem to chew currently. my doctor tells me this is normal and to take Advil. I understand how frustrating the pain can be!

I have horrible after effects!!! My head is usually pounding, my arms and legs feel like jello. I feel so weak and I dont want to move. Most of the time my mouth hurts from gritting my jaw during and biting off pieces of my tounge. I usually sleep for a few days after a seizure.

It could depend on your state/where you live. I know for me, I have to be seizure free for 6 months before they will consider letting me drive again. I hope your daughter is okay. I have had several seizures while driving and I thank God I had safe endings with each, but the last one, way to scary to consider driving again. I don't want to put anyone else in danger.

I have general muscle soreness as well. I also feel dizzy and light-headed and nauseous. And I also feel like I'm clenching my teeth--I am told I bite my tongue while having seizures. I'm glad I'm not the only one that feels this way!

When my daughter was about 6m

When my daughter was about 6m. Unable to walk still crawling. She would sit and fall over with no ability to lift her self back up doc said she had an ear infection. This happened again when she was about to walk well. Normally when she woke up, she would be off balance. Crashing head first into any thing in her path looks like she was able to controlling it. Once again said was ear infection and this has happened 4 Times after that. Her last episode was yesterday same thing but this time her eyes where rolling so I took her to the doc and there was no ear infection This time and she won't eat after she does this. She screamed for 6 hours after waking up from her nap yesturday. After she has these episodes. the next day she is up running around like normal. Doctor wants to do an eeg for seizures. What do y'all think? I'm not finding anything that says kids dangerously fall after sezuire? This is very serious she will just hit with all of her body weight head first. Also doc says she is under weight 21 pounds at 2. This. Happens about every 4 month's.

I had a few grand mal when I was 19 months old and then started having petit/absence when I was a teenager. We thought it was under control until 5 days ago. We think I had a grand mal since I don't remember a large portion of my morning, my back, left arm, and jaw have been sore for a few days, and I was nauseous not long after. But in that missing space of time I crawled back into my bed and woke up again after putting on make up. How do you know if you've had one? Just the achiness, memory loss, and other symptoms? What has helped you to emotionally adjust? Especially since they got my hopes up saying most people grow out of the epilepsy. It took me 3 years to get my epilepsy under control just to lapse when we thought I was about ready to ween off. I have amazing friends and family, but it's hard as I don't personally know anyone else with epilepsy.
